Cleaning your windows regularly is basically the best way to maintain them. Do a thorough cleanse with a soft detergent and a damped cloth for the glass screens and polish the wood occasionally, to maintain their beautiful and durable shine.

Caulk it Up

The sealant, or caulk, that was used for certain areas of your window may have sustained cracks due to harsh sunlight or other weather conditions, like intense rain. Periodically take note of possible cracks or holes in the caulk and apply as needed. This keeps your window in good shape and prevents drafty air in your home.

Fix Cracks 

It is relatively easy to miss cracks in your window, especially if you are not looking out for them. Other than cracks in the caulk of the window, it is possible that there may be cracks in the frame or the glass screen.  A little TLC never hurt, so apply the needed shine to the cracks in your window screen -or replace, if need be. It is best to fix window cracks as soon as they are noticed to avoid further expenses or damage.

Inspect Regularly

The best type of maintenance is one that is done for preventive and precautionary methods. Take cognizance of the state of your windows and doors, from time to time, especially between seasonal changes. Cautionary steps like regular inspection help you understand how your furniture works and the necessary fixtures that should be done in order to prevent further damage.
